    3. Worrying About The Situation

Animal rescue is not as easy as it sounds. Animals can behave unexpectedly when in danger or when under stress. Sometimes they stay calm, but they feel distressed and can become hysterical most of the time. Furthermore, the firefighters did not even realize what kind of animals awaited them. They set out cautiously.

    4. Getting Ready

Since they were in the city, the firefighters thought they 'd come across domestic animals like dogs or cats, but they also didn't rule out wild animals. They had complete faith in the project, based on their previous experiences of saving animals.

    5. Arriving At The Scene

The firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and learned that the animals appeared to be deeply trapped within the storm drain. Because the grate was quite small, they suspected that the animals were young and probably infants. The pipe from the storm was deep, dark, and cold. They realized it wasn't time to waste.

As the grate opened and the drain revealed, they started to hear the cries of the animals. They knew at this point they were about to save those children. However, they were still clueless about what kind of babies these animals were, due to the darkness.

    8. Falling Into Hesitation

They talked about the best thing to do for these poor babies, and they debated a little bit about what to do next. What if they'd just left their mom looking for food? If they got the babies out and took them somewhere, the firefighters were afraid their mom would not be able to find them.

    9. The Rescue Begins

The firefighters eventually decided to pull the babies out of the drain. They did take them out carefully. Everybody was wearing a pair of gloves to make sure they didn't lose the natural smell of the babies if their mom returned to them. Yet at first glance, they couldn't help yet fall in love with the children.

Still, wondering how these poor babies trapped themselves in the sewer? Well, a small investigation was conducted by firefighters. The complainant, who was also the observer, clarified that she saw a fast-moving stream sweeping the puppies around before finally ending up in the drain. The firefighters were pleased someone didn't put the pups in the pipe. The tale didn't stop there, though.

    14. Check-Up For The Puppies

Now that the puppies were home, it was time to ensure that they all were well. The team went to a Humane Society, and then one by one tested the pups. Fortunately, even after those mishaps they were all healthy and strong. One firefighter member, Mark Jenkins, gave the vet his phone number for updates on the puppies after the criterters were left there. He didn't expect to receive a call so early though. Were the puppies Okay?
